Daniel del Valle Blanco

Government Affairs Representative

Daniel del Valle Blanco currently holds the position of Business Development Representative at the Borghese Ventures Ltd.  Daniel also serves as Policy Advisor for Youth of the United Nations. These functions are currently carried out in a technical way serving as Advisor to the Ambassador at the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, New York.  Daniel is based in Madrid, Spain. His main professional interests include diplomacy, international relations, law, human rights and economics. In addition, he loves music and is an accomplished singer, a former soloist of the Escolania Boys’ Choir of the El Escorial Royal Monastery, the Royal Choir of Spain.

Mr. del Valle serves as the official High Representative for Youth of the International Human Rights Foundation, where he brings also his recent and on-going experience serving as Policy Advisor to the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Slovak Republic to the United Nations in New York. In that capacity he has focused primarily on youth policies, Latin America and Africa. As a tireless youth representative and change maker, he has distinguished himself by his creativity, dedication, energetic advocacy and awareness raising about the importance of youth empowerment in today’s world, in particular in developing countries and in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Daniel has worked passionately to support the implementation of the UN Youth 2030 Strategy launched by UN Secretary-General António Guterres in September 2018 and the work of the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth. Underpinned by his humanistic values, he has provided the said diplomatic missions with invaluable assistance in areas such as humanitarian aid, human rights, education, peacebuilding, public and cultural diplomacy and social media. He has worked directly also with a number of Latin American and African diplomatic missions both in New York and in Europe (e.g. Haiti and Lesotho) to ensure direct participation of youth in decision making processes and to involve young people in bringing about desired change in their countries and societies (“Ambassadors of Change”). He is committed to selflessly serving the people, especially the young and most vulnerable ones in the context of leaving no one behind. This is closely linked to his determination to enhance the involvement of cities and local authorities in the work of the UN (SDG 11 on sustainable cities).
